This week we prepare ourselves for the 1999 version of the classic poem with Christopher Lambert as the title character. Things to watch out for: How many back flips over the camera, how many times Lambert can't see anything, and how many times he cares too much. Gotz Otto: Fine German Actor; Iron Sky, Cload Atlas, He played Mr. Stamper, the villain Elliot Carver's assistant, in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. When called for casting, Otto was given twenty seconds to introduce himself. Saying, "I'm big, I'm bad, and I'm German.", he did it in five.

Producers promised a budget of 25 million dollars, whereas they made the film for 3.5 million dollars, according to Lambert.
Christopher Lambert declined to reprise his role as Rayden in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation to star as Beowulf.

When interviewed about filming Beowulf, Rhona Mitra admitted that everybody had told her not to do the film and it would be a nightmare and had said it was a nightmare and Romania was a hell-hole.
Mad Max, Mortal Kombat, Xena: Warrior Princess and Van Helsing are considered major influences behind the film.
