Brought to you by World War V. It's every single badass vampire killer vs every stupid vampire from the last 10 years. Blade leads Buffy, James Crow and the Frog Brothers against the Twilight buttholes, John Depp's Barnabas, Selene from Underworld, and Luke Evan's Vlad.
It's time we take a look at one of the highest praised vampire movies of all time. It's Near Dark starring Bill Paxton, Adrian Pasdar and Lance Henriksen. Is Near Dark really that awesome or is it just one of the first films that stray from Bram Stoker's Dracula and Nosferatu? Justin is rolling the dice with this pick as it is so highly praised. Could this be the second "good" film reviewed by this "bad" movie podcast?
We also get to some listener feedback and take alot of heat for picking Johnny Mnemonic. Apparently there's quite a few people that think it is a good movie. They are wrong.

About Near Dark - Movie Information
Sam's Boring Bullshit
Near Dark is Academy Award winning Director, Kathryn Bigelow’s second film after The Loveless, her freshman effort, starring Willam Defoe & Robert Gordon. Before her dance with Oscar success she was dry-humping the Razzies with titles such as; Blue Steel, Point Break and K-19 Widomaker. I hesitated to say this film because Near Dark currently holds an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, a mere 4 percentage points away from Splash, the highest rated Stinker Madness pick. Something happened to Kathryn in the 7 years between K-19 Widomaker and The Hurt Locker. It could be seen as a point of mystic or that she had a life changing experience. I think it was that she met Mark Boal who wrote The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty. Just sayin’, he wrote both of them.
Near Dark was co-written by Eric Red. Red almost died in a car crash in 2000, kind of. He was the cause a car accident resulting in a double fatality. When faced with it he picked up a piece of broken glass and slit his own throat. He has written and directed 7 films. He wrote another four including this and the famed classic The Hitcher.
Adrian Pasdar, you will remember him or his stand in for being the worst diver in the history of diving. It is documented in the credit sequence of Solar Babies. You will remember him also as flat top guy from the Marvel show that no one watches. He also played line backer for the Florida Gators.
Lance Henriksen lives on Stinker Madness.
You will remember Jenette Goldstien not fondly as the sassy Hispanic tough chica in Aliens. As a side note the “getting to know you” sequence with the space marines in Aliens is about the worst shit ever, she was a big part of it.
The word vampire is never used in this film.
James Cameron tried to just give Bigelow a hand me down cast from Aliens, hence Henriksen, Paxton and Goldstien.
Both Red and Bigelow were heart set on making a western. Since the failure of Silverado and subsequent collapse of the genre, it wasn’t going to happen, so they tossed some vamps in and vioala.
Producers told Bigelow she could be easily replaced if she showed any fault in the first 5 days of shooting.
The cinema in the film is playing Aliens, another kick down just for the Paxton, along with a billboard sprayed with “Bill + Louise” celebrating the love of the Paxton and his wife Louise Newbury.
Johnny Depp and D.B. Sweeney did not have the chops to play Caleb.
They showed this shit at the MOMA at some point. Not sure why.
Keep an eye out for: Tim Thomerson, James LeGros and Theresa Randle.
